Evaluation of the Sunshine Coast Gympie CHIC (Connecting Healthcare in Communities) Partnership Council

The Sunshine Coast Gympie Partnership Council has been meeting formally since early 2008. As the initiative that brought the group together drew to a close mid-2011, members made a decision to sustain the partnership. The goal of the “Our Story” paper was to identify and extract trends in experiences, expectations, impressions, lessons and challenges pertaining to the CHIC (Connecting Healthcare in Communities) initiative in the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region. It was anticipated that this would help to understand the opportunities and threats to engaging in these activities and assist in applying local knowledge to future collaborative arrangements. The methods used to capture these included a review of the documentation associated with the partnership including guidelines, minutes, outcomes reports, external evaluator’s comments, briefing papers and manuscripts. Members also completed a partnership evaluation and provided subjective input during the collation of the paper.

This evaluation was commissioned by The Sunshine Coast & Gympie CHIC Partnership Council and conducted by the Sunshine Coast Division of General Practice Ltd., James Lamerton and Jennifer Morcom. The authors wish to acknowledge the contribution and cooperation of the member organisations of the SCG CHIC PC in the conduct of this evaluation.
