Our Policy on Researchers Requesting SCDGP Access to Practice Staff and Patient Participants

Primary Care research is understandably receiving unprecedented attention and with this we anticipate a number of requests from experienced academics and novice researchers to market their study and gain access to our SCDGP membership. SCDGP supports as far as possible all research that may be of interest to our members, however we remain mindful of a responsibility to distribute quality and relevant information.

If you wish to access SCDGP membership for your research purposes, please ensure your request details:

  • The Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators, including their credentials and contact information
  • The Project Title and Objectives
  • The location and timeframe of the project
  • Ethical Clearance information
  • The methodology and design of the project
  • The participant and recruitment procedures
  • Confidentiality and privacy procedures

In the event this information is concise, clear and complete, a news snippet will be placed in the SCDGP weekly e-newsletter including how and who to make contact with your research team. You may assist this process by providing a small suitable paragraph with your request. SCDGP will not provide direct contact details nor assist with mailing or faxing out information to practice staff.

SCDGP takes no responsibility for the recruitment of participants or their decision to take part in any research that has been forwarded via this process.
